Canadian Red Cross

CPR/AED

Courses on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) provide the skills needed to recognize and respond to cardiovascular emergencies and choking for adults, children, and babies depending on the level of CPR chosen. Courses meet legislation requirements for provincial/territorial worker safety and insurance boards, and include the latest CPR guidelines and training in the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED).

Wilderness & Remote First Aid

Basic level of Wilderness & Remote First Aid that covers material in Standard First Aid & CPR, plus special material on techniques for wilderness and remote areas. Course also offers strategies for providing extended care for up to 24 hours. Part of the course is taught in an outdoor setting and requires greater physical activity and endurance than typical first aid training. Suitable for those who work or live in remote locations or who are outdoor recreation enthusiasts.

Emergency Child Care First Aid

Basic one-day course designed to introduce caregivers to injury prevention skills and knowledge. Course covers lifesaving first aid skills and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR and AED) for children, and babies. Course meets legislation requirements for provincial/territorial early childhood education and day care worker safety requirements.

Standard First Aid

Comprehensive two-day course offering first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills for those who need training due to work requirements or who want more knowledge to respond to emergencies at home. Course meets legislation requirements for provincial/territorial worker safety and insurance boards and includes the latest first aid and CPR guidelines.

Marine Basic First Aid

Comprehensive two-day course designed to meet the needs of those expected to provide first aid in a marine environment. Course uses a combination of lecture, discussion, and scenarios taken from the marine/fishing industry to teach the required knowledge and skills. Course meets the requirements of Transport Canada outlined in Transport Publication (TP) 13008 E.

Emergency First Aid

Basic one-day course offering lifesaving first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills for the workplace or home. Course meets legislation requirements for provincial/territorial worker safety and insurance boards and includes the latest first aid and CPR guidelines.

Standard Child Care First Aid

Comprehensive two-day course offering lifesaving first aid skills, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills, and injury prevention skills and knowledge, with a focus on childhood injuries and illnesses. Includes the latest first aid and CPR guidelines and meets legislation requirements for provincial/territorial early childhood education and day care worker safety requirements.

American Red Cross

Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED

The Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED course incorporates the latest science and teaches students to recognize and care for a variety of first aid emergencies such as burns, cuts, scrapes, sudden illnesses, head, neck, back injuries, heat and cold emergencies and how to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies to help victims of any age – adults (about 12 years and older) and pediatric (infants and children up to 12 years of age). Students who successfully complete this course will receive a certificate for Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED valid for two years.

Heartzap

Heartsaver CPR/AED Level C

This stand alone 4.5 hour course offers CPR/AED training which provides the rescuer with all the confidence required to respond to a cardiac arrest casualty and choking in adults. All CPR/AED certification is valid for 3 years from date of certification however an annual CPR/AED refresher course is recommended.

Emergency First Aid with Heartsaver CPR/AED Level C

This 1 day course provides the basics of First Aid and CPR/AED techniques. The course covers the recognition and treatment of airway, breathing and cardiovascular emergencies. Training includes CPR skills, management of choking, bleeding, shock, and fainting. Below is a detail list of the course content. Course participants will receive a 3 year certification upon successful completion of all performance criteria and achieve a 75% on the multiple choice exam.

Standard First Aid with Heartsaver CPR/AED Level C

This two day in-class course provides comprehensive first aid & CPR/AED techniques for those who want more knowledge to respond to emergencies. The course covers the recognition and treatment of airway, breathing, and cardiovascular emergencies, AEDs, management of a casualty, seizure and diabetic emergency to name a few.
