WHMIS - Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System
Canadian Law requires that any person exposed to hazardous materials in the workplace must be trained in WHMIS (also known as GHS 2015).
This WHMIS course is an instructor-led training program that can be done at your worksite or online through ZOOM. It is a 4-hour course that consists of 7 chapters, followed by a final exam.
It is an employee’s responsibility to educate themselves in WHMIS safety training, to help take the necessary measures to protect themselves and co-workers, and to identify and control hazardous products and materials. Employers responsibilities include correctly labelling hazardous products, as well as having the SDSs (Safety Data Sheets) readily available for employees to use as a reference and understand about the dangers in their workplace.
Each participant will receive a WHMIS guidebook, and a wallet size card certification that is valid for 3 years.
