Recently, our team had the opportunity to provide professional event medical services at the DDSB Track & Field Area Meet, held in partnership with the Durham Elementary Athletic Association (DEAA).
This exciting event brought together student athletes from across the region to compete in a full day of track and field activities, including sprints, distance races, jumps, and throwing events. With hundreds of participants, coaches, volunteers, and spectators in attendance, ensuring a safe environment was a top priority.
Providing Medical Support for a Day of Competition
Track and field events involve a wide variety of athletic activities that can place physical demands on young athletes. From high-intensity sprint races to long-distance running and field events, participants are constantly pushing themselves to achieve their personal best.
The canaPHEM event medical team was on-site throughout the day, ready to respond to any medical concerns that could arise. Our trained medical professionals monitored the event, provided first aid when needed, and ensured that any injuries or health-related incidents were addressed quickly and professionally.
Having qualified event medics available gave athletes, coaches, parents, and organizers added confidence, knowing that immediate medical assistance was readily accessible if required.
