Are you an Advanced Care Medic looking for meaningful work outside of traditional EMS? Want to use your full scope of practice at major venues, concerts, and sporting events?

At canaPHEM, we provide trusted event medical services and emergency training across Ontario. We’re hiring Advanced Care Medics to join our Onsite Event Division, delivering frontline care at some of Hamilton’s busiest public venues under the direction of our in-house Medical Director.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Provide medical care at events under the delegation of canaPHEM’s Medical Director
  • Perform all delegated controlled acts as outlined in the Ontario ALS Patient Care Standards (ALS PCS)
  • Arrive on time, in proper uniform, and ready for each shift
  • Follow all canaPHEM and event medic protocols and procedures
  • Maintain and inspect medical equipment and supplies
  • Respond safely and effectively to medical calls
  • Complete timely and accurate documentation (PCRs, minor injury reports, incident reports)
  • Attend all required CME or other training sessions
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Ontario Community College (2-year program) or Ontario Private College (1-year program) Diploma in Emergency Health Care/Paramedicine
  • EMCA/AEMCA Certification in the Province of Ontario or in progress of obtaining AEMCA
  • Advanced Care Certification from the Province of Ontario
  • Valid CPR Level C / Standard First Aid
  • All qualifications that meet the requirements of the Ambulance Act and related Regulations, including being free from communicable diseases and having a clear criminal record
  • Ability to meet and maintain health requirements as set by the Ambulance Act
  • Physical ability to provide patient care
  • Vulnerable sector check, annually
  • Ability to consistently maintain job attendance as scheduled
  • Candidates must have their own transportation
